Exhibition Opening | Artist Residency Program with Nida Bangashat Crow Collection of Asian Art
The Crow Collection’s Free Artist Residency Program gives twelve local high school students the opportunity to work with contemporary artist Nida Bangash at the museum over the course of three days.
Trained in the traditions of Persian and South Asian miniatures, Bangash uses the language of patterns as a means of weaving together the complexities of cross-cultural experiences. Through the program, students will explore works of art on view at the museum, learn how to create and hand-cut tessellated patterns, and, drawing inspiration from the collection, create collaborative kinetic sculptures that will be on view for six weeks at the Crow Collection.
The Exhibition will be on view from April 15, 2017 to May 28, 2017.
