Breathe: Veterans Art and Wellness Workshops – December
Sat Dec 16 2017 10:00 am — 12:30 pm

Breathe 3_WEBThe Breathe: Veterans Art and Wellness Program continues through the end of the year with four more workshops.

Veterans are invited to join experienced Qigong instructors Chris and Fayne Bouguyon from SimplyAware for an hour and a half Qigong practice as well as engage with works of art through a self-reflective activity in the galleries. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the practice of Qigong improves breathing, posture, and mental focus. Participating veterans have described themselves as feeling calm, relaxed, and energized after practicing Qigong. Lunch will be provided at noon for all participants.

Register in advance to receive a free Breathe T-shirt at the end of the first workshop you attend! For parking instructions, click here. Parking in the Trammell Crow Center parking garage costs $5 flat rate for the day. Members receive free parking validation if they park in the Trammell Crow Center parking garage. GLOBAL LEARNERS SHOWCASE with the Kessler School
Sat Dec 16 2017 2:00 pm — 3:00 pm

The Crow Collection of Asian Art’s GLOBAL LEARNERS uses engagements in the visual arts to develop cognitive empathy and cultural awareness.

Students at the Kessler School engaged with a Cambodian sculpture, exchanged letters and art with children attending a school in Cambodia, learned directly from a member of the Cambodian community in Dallas, and created their own original works of art.

Join us for the opening reception featuring student artist talks. Light refreshments will be served.
