The Crow Collection of Asian Art is proud to partner with the Council on American Islamic Relations, First United Methodist Church Dallas, and Compassionate DFW to pioneer “Developing a Fearless Heart: An Interfaith Effort to Cultivate Compassion.” The program will comprise five book discussions around the book “A Fearless Heart” by Dr. Thupten Jinpa and a final keynote lecture by the author.

 

You are welcome to attend any of the five book discussions, which will be held at the following locations:

Islamic Association of Collin County – January 15 at 6:30 pm (Amy Lewis Hofland is a panelist)
Congregation Beth Torah – January 24 at 7 pm (Amy Lewis Hofland is a panelist)
First United Methodist Church Dallas – February 5 at 7 pm
NorthPark Presbyterian Church – February 11 at 7 pm
University Christian Church (Ft. Worth) – February 20 at 7 pm

A final keynote lecture and reception with Dr. Thupten Jinpa will be held at First United Methodist Church on February 27 at 7 pm.

Tai chi (also known as tai chi chuan or tai ji) is a Chinese traditional art of movement that is widely known for its graceful, meditative form.

This class follows a series of movements practiced in a slow, focused manner to decrease stress, increase balance and agility, and promote overall physical and mental well-being.

This class will be led by Greg Young of White Rock Tai Chi.

Dating back 4500 years, Qigong is considered one of the catalysts of traditional Chinese medicine practices. This class promotes flexibility, balance, and strength in the body through gentle, flowing movements.
