All tour types are appropriate for school, home school, higher education, community, and adult groups.

What type of tour is for you?

Art & Making Tours combine observation and discussion with hands-on art making in the galleries. This tour is perfect for groups that want to stimulate their eyes, minds and hands!

The current Art & Making tour explores the unique structures, processes and materials present in different pieces of art. Students will complete creative activities based on the grid that challenges their imaginations and encourages problem-solving with various materials, including 3D pensArt&Making_Pich

Tours cover 2-3 works of art and last 1 hour.  Maximum group size is 40.  School Groups require 1 adult chaperone for every 15 students. Art & Making Tours are taught by professional Gallery Educators.

Modeled after Harvard Project Zero’s Artful Thinking, this tour allows students to engage deeply with 1-2 works of art over the course of an hour.   Thinking Routines push students towards deep looking, critical thinking, and meaning-making.  This tour serves up-to 120 students.

AP ART HISTORY TOURS use inquiry to explore works of art in the galleries through the three big ideas presented in the AP Art History Curriculum Framework.  Students will connect works of art on view from Mughal India and Japan with the AP image bank.

Tours cover 2-4 works of art. Maximum group size: 40. Tours last approximately 1 hour. School Groups require 1 adult chaperone for every 15 students. Tours are taught by professional Gallery Educators.

Four weeks only!
One tour. Two museums. Multiple videos.
Bring your high school students to experience Invisible Cities, an exhibition and screening series that showcases more than twenty contemporary video works by renowned and emerging artists from countries in Asia. Like the exhibition, the Video & the City Tour takes places at both the Crow Collection of Asian Art and the Dallas Contemporary.

Tours last approximately 2 hours. Maximum group size: 40. School Groups require one adult chaperone for every fifteen students.  Tours are taught by professional educators at both museum. Tour is available October 3 – October 13 and October 17 – October 27 and appropriate for high school students only.

One tour, two museums!  The Samurai Times Two tour begins at the Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection and continues on to the Crow Collection of Asian Art.  Join gallery educators at both institutions to explore the culture of the Japanese Samurai.

Tours cover a total of 5-7 works of art and last approximately 2 hours. Maximum group size: 30. School Groups require one adult chaperone for every fifteen students.  Tours are taught by professional Crow Collection Gallery Educators and Barbier-Mueller Museum staff.

The Crow Collection welcomes groups of up to 30 for self-guided tours. By booking a self-guided tour, you are reserving space in the galleries for your group. These tours must be booked and confirmed by the Education Department in advance.
