Monks and Mandala Tourat Crow Museum of Asian Art
Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery return to the Crow Museum of Asian Art for a week-long artist residency to construct a magnificent mandala sand painting. During the week, millions of grains of crushed marble are painstakingly laid into place in this ancient spiritual art form. This guided tour includes a conversation around this sacred art form and its meanings, time to quietly observe the making of a mandala, and conclude your experience with a chance to work with a monk on a community mandala in our new art studio.
Tours are limited to 30 people and are available on a first come, first served basis.
