This free event offers local artists and art enthusiasts the opportunity to meet each other, create, collaborate, and celebrate the exhibition Landscape Relativities: The Collaborative Works of Arnold Chang and Michael Cherney.

Bring a friend or just yourself, and, in the spirit of the exhibition, create an original work of art together with fellow artists to compete for prizes. 

Cash bar all night. 

Part 1

Seize the opportunity to work with local visual artist Nida Bangash. 

Born in Iran and raised in Pakistan, Nida incorporates her training in the traditions of Persian and South Asian miniatures into her contemporary art practice. As a family, be inspired by works of art in our collection as well as Nida’s techniques to learn the basics of Persian illumination and geometric patterning. Participants will bring patterns to life using tracing materials and gouache, and each work will be considered for inclusion in a community exhibition. Join Grammy® Award-winning composer and pianist Henri Scars Struck in conversation with Dr. Jacqueline Chao, Curator at the Crow Collection of Asian Art,

about his site-specific soundscape We Know You’ve Got Soul created in connection with the exhibition Landscape Relativities: The Collaborative Works of Arnold Chang and Michael Cherney. Together they will explore how his musical interventions interact with the visual art throughout the museum.

This project is co-commissioned by the Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Family SOLUNA International Music and Arts Festival

The third annual Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Family SOLUNA International Music & Arts Festival presents a curated three-week experience, staging a series of performances and mixed-media installations by some of the most exciting contemporary artists working today, alongside concerts by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra led by Music Director Jaap van Zweden.

ABOUT HENRI SCARS STRUCK
Henri Scars Struck (b. 1969) is a French-born, New York-based Grammy®  Award-winning composer and pianist inspired by all music. Struck’s musical endeavors cross over to the worlds of art, fashion, and cinema. He has worked on art installations at Chateau De Versailles, Notre Dame De Paris, and Le Grand Palais in France and collaborated with visionaries such as Malcolm McLaren, Yves Saint Laurent, Thierry Dreyfus, Madonna, and KRS One. henriscarsstruck.com
