ARTIST: Amanda Heng

Born in Singapore in 1951, Amanda Heng is an artist that pushes boundaries on a regular basis. Enhanced by her degree in printmaking, Heng uses performance art to explore issues such as gender inequality and social identity in a way that can be uncomfortable in its unfaltering, uncensored perspective. Heng’s groundbreaking work is accompanied by her foundation of The Artists’ Village and WITA (Women in the Arts) which continue to move the Singaporean art world forward.
